On July 13, 2025, Travis Scott and his Cactus Jack label dropped the highly anticipated JACKBOYS 2, a 17-track compilation album released in honor of Houston’s “713 Day,” a nod to the city’s area code.
The sequel to the 2019 chart-topping JACKBOYS project, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, arrived with a star-studded roster and immersive production, further solidifying Scott’s influence in hip-hop. Announced just days prior via Instagram with the caption “JB2 OUT EVERYWHERE 7/13 SPEAKERS AND SCREAMS AT MAX VOLUME,” the release sparked a frenzy among fans.
JACKBOYS 2 features Cactus Jack artists like Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo, and Chase B, alongside heavyweights such as GloRilla, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Tyla, Vybz Kartel, Future, and Playboi Carti. Hosted by Houston legend Bun B, the album blends trunk-rattling beats, showcasing Scott’s knack for curating immersive musical experiences. The lead single, “2000 Excursion,” dropped on July 8, setting the tone with its moody, street-ready vibe.
The release wasn’t without controversy. Timed closely with Clipse’s Let God Sort Em Out, JACKBOYS 2 includes a subtle response to Pusha T’s diss on “So Be It.” On the track “Champain & Vacay,” Scott raps, “I’m dodgin’ TMZ / made a hundred off pushin’ T’s / now my phone on DND,” addressing the feud with a sly jab.
Accompanying the music, Scott launched a JACKBOYS 2 merchandise line, featuring CD and vinyl bundles with alternate cover art, and gifted branded Lamborghinis to collaborators like GloRilla and Kodak Black. With a 2025 Coachella headline and a 2025-2026 tour looming, Scott’s JACKBOYS 2 proves his Cactus Jack empire is stronger than ever.
